Guide to the USA
The US is too large and diverse to cover in a single guide but its popularity as a holiday destination has never been greater – particularly with the over 65s market. The US is made up of 50 states – the most populous being California, Texas and New York. Needless to say each state has its own character but each also has its own set of laws.
Every visitor to the US, whether travelling from coast to coast, north to south or merely staying in Florida, has an idea of what to expect. The US has every imaginable attraction, every scenic landscape and more – and it’s all bigger and faster than anywhere you can possibly visit.
Despite the sheer size of the country, it is ideal for any holidaymaker. This is because you can have any kind of holiday you want. You can laze on a beach, visit beautiful national parks, explore huge sprawling cities or ski. No country on earth offers such a wealth of opportunity and diversity for a tourist.
Tourism in the US has many focal points but the most popular are California, Hawaii and Florida as regions plus the winter ski resorts and major cities such as New York and LA. America’s real beauty lies in the spectacular national parks such as Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Everglades as well as the sprawling desolate parks in Alaska with their teeming wildlife. Equally spellbinding are the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon and the Great Lakes.
You can’t see it all at once but you will want to go back. The US is the ultimate holiday destination.
