02 December 2006  Spanish hotels offer 'heavenly' discount rates
Holidaymakers looking for a bargain holiday to Spain this winter, including those with OAP travel insurance, may be interested in new deals being launched by a Spanish hotel chain.

The Rafaelhoteles chain is offering special discount of up to 70 per cent off the standard room rate for bookings between December 21st and January 14th, with the special offer running at the Rafaelhoteles Atocha in Madrid and Rafaelhoteles Casanova in Barcelona.

"Packages include different features, ranging from gourmet Christmas lunches in Madrid, welcome gifts and wine on arrival, complimentary visitor cards for the best city-wide museums, galleries[and] attractions," the company reports.

Also included in the "Heavenly Holidays Package" is a fast train service to New Year's Eve parties in Madrid and restaurants in Barcelona.

Last year, senior travel insurance provider Saga warned that leaving the purchase of holiday insurance to the last minute can leave travellers unprotected in the event of their holiday being cancelled.
