29 December 2006  Spain tops destination list
UK holidaymakers, including those with senior travel insurance, planning their trips abroad next year, could be opting for the perennial favourite Spain, as a travel price comparison company reported that it topped the list of flight searches made by users.

Travelsupermarket.com found that searches for Spain were 69 per cent ahead of internal UK flights, which was second in the list, Internet Travel News reports.

Chris Nixon, a director at travelsupermarket.com, commented that the large number of searches on the company's site made it possible to establish genuine trends in Britain's travel habits.

"Users are looking to holiday around the UK and to jet off the the festivities and winter warmth of Spain.

"Online consumers are seemingly looking for the best prices to party towns to see in 2007."

OAP travel insurance provider More Than recently reported that five million Britons visited Spain last winter in search of sunnier weather.
