05 January 2007  New golf trail formed off Myrtle Beach
Amateur golfers seeking a relaxing break abroad, including those with senior travel insurance, may be attracted to the newly spun-off Waccamaw Golf Trail in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach is a city in South Carolina in the US that features a number of beaches and golf courses, with Discover Myrtle Beach reporting that the area receives 14 million visitors each year, such as those with OAP travel insurance.

Jim Woodring, vice president of golf operations at Myrtle Beach National, said: "A visit to the Waccamaw Golf Trail is a relaxed, less crowded escape from the real world, which is what many seek during vacation."

He added that the trail offers a "unique" golfing experience with 12 courses that offer a different experience to that north of Myrtle Beach.

Golfing website TravelGolf.com notes in agreement with Myrtle Beach National that the southern courses traditionally offer a more laid back approach to golfing than elsewhere.
