British holidaymakers, including those with senior travel insurance, wanting to check out the details of hotels in the Canary Islands before they book their flight, may want to make use of a new blog from an ex-pat UK blogger designed to give them just that.

The blog by former Mancunian Femi Jauye aims to provide users with information regarding the Canary Islands, specifically holiday information for the major tourist destinations of Gran Canaria, Fuertevenentura, Lanzarote and Tenerife.

Femi Jaye, a property broker and regular traveller, said: "As I travel between the islands a lot it is easy for me to drive to a hotel and take a picture of a hotel room and post it on my blog."

He added that he is also in the position of being able to take a look at a number of hotel restaurants and also find out if the hotel is suitable for disabled travellers.

OAP travel insurance provider AXA reported that 37 per cent of Britons heading abroad in 2006 would be travelling to Spain, the Balearics or Canary Islands.
