14 March 2007  Greece cruises 'overwhelmingly popular'
Budget cruise provider easyCruise has announced a number of additional Greek dates to its itinerary, in addition to supplying more cabins, as the company reveals it has been "overwhelmed" by the popularity of the trips.

Cruises will now begin a fortnight earlier than previously planned, starting on May 18th, while the company has also added a Classical Greece tour for October and November which will take in a visit of archaeological landmarks of ancient Greece.

Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyCruise, said: "When we first announced our new Greek itinerary we were confident that it would appeal to our customers, but we have been overwhelmed by just how popular it has been."

He added that holidaymakers would be able to choose between differing trips, ranging from the "beauty" of the less common islands to more lively itineraries.

Last month, senior travel insurance provider Axa reported that 45 per cent of retirees have used the internet to purchase flight, coach and cruise tickets.
