Older Britons with an interest in using digital cameras, such as those with OAP travel insurance on their holidays, have been given an exhaustive guide on how to use the new equipment.

Your Digital Camera Made Easy - a guide for using digital photography equipment from Age Concern - is aimed at both beginners and those looking to learn more about their digital camera.

Included in the handbook is advice on picking the best camera for varying needs, information on getting the snaps on to your computer and explanations of how to edit, store and print photographs.

Gordon Lishman, director general of Age Concern, said: "While many over-50s are already familiar with digital cameras, others have yet to discover digital photography and open the door to personal computing, email and the internet."

He added that other guides filled with "jargon" can often prove confusing, claiming that the manual from Age Concern will give all that read it the ability to get started with a digital camera.

In June 2006, financial services comparison firm moneysupermarket.com advised those carrying expensive portable possessions outside the home to ensure they are properly covered by an insurance policy.
