28 March 2007  Chef's Table experience on offer for cruise passengers
Food-lovers heading abroad with Princess Cruises this spring, including those with senior travel insurance, may wish to opt for a unique Chef's Table experience on deck.

Debuting on the Emerald Princess vessel, the Chef's Table experience involves a personal escort to the galley by the Maitre d' to meet the executive chef, before course after course of wine and food.

Limited to ten passengers each night, the meal is exclusive to these travellers and will include regional cuisine, descriptions of preparation methods and tasting suggestions.

Rai Caluori, executive vice president of fleet operations at Princess Cruises, said: "This will give a select group of guests an incredible close-up view of how dishes are created and served, as well as introduce them to our talented executive chefs."

He added that travellers will come away with a "memorable experience", in addition to potentially picking up some cooking tips from the chefs on board.

Last year, OAP travel insurance provider Saga reported that increasing numbers of Britons abroad will make an effort to experience foreign culture and food while abroad.
