08 March 2007  Caravan holidaymakers offered travel warning
Caravan insurance is as important as passport renewal, booking a ferry and campsite reservations for anyone planning a trip in their mobile-home this summer, it has been suggested.

Those planning camping trips for the year, including those with OAP travel insurance, should be aware that caravan theft is a big problem, according to insurance broker Alan Blunden and Co.

Robberies of this kind still take place despite enhancements in campsite security, states Richard Burgess from the company.

The firm indicates that more people are caravanning again - towing their small homes to destinations around Europe.

Supermodel Kate Moss and Take That member Mark Owen are two celebrity caravan owners named by the group.

It also indicates that the Caravan Club has signed up more new members than ever before - in preparation for the spring.

Last month, Easier reported that travel group Eurocamp, which has venues in France, is offering its customers the chance to travel to its sites by train in order to be environmentally friendly.
