03 November 2006  Brits show love for holiday romance
Millions of Britons, including some going abroad with senior travel insurance, have had holiday romances on their travels.

Research from Saga Travel Insurance reveals that almost 10.5 million Britons have had a fling when on holiday, with 252,000 doing so after they reach their 50th birthday.

Popular places for the over-50s to find romance on holiday included back in Britain, Spain and Italy.

"The holidays might be over but Brits are keeping the summer loving alive with ongoing holiday romances," the OAP travel insurance provider stated.

"Good news as the nights draw in and summer holidays seem a distant memory!"

Last year, Sainsbury's Bank Travel Insurance revealed that 2 million couples were planning on travelling abroad for Valentine's Day.

The company urged couples heading abroad to ensure that they have adequate cover for their trip - which would include travel insurance over 65 for older travellers.
